Calenders are used for the continuous production of semi-finished thermoplastic films or the continuous refining of different films and surfaces. An extremely variable and modular system enables the adaptation of calendering units to a wide range of requirements. They are suitable for the production of films and sheets with different layer thicknesses made of different polymer materials as well as for the production of films with extremely low wall thickness tolerances.
Calenders are used for the refining of films and sheets by laminating or contact laminating. Smoothing calenders are suitable for polishing thick-walled films or sheets, for embossing, coating and laminating.
For COLLIN calenders, gap measurement is standard, however, gap control is available as option. All three rolls are individually driven via servo motors; thus, speed frictions can be adjusted. For easy traversing, as option, the heavy calendering unit can be moved with air cushions. Roll tempering occurs either with oil up to 350°C or with water up to 150°C (medium temperature).
